Ships are a core element of Galimulator, being the most effective means of offense and defense for an Empire, as well as being crucial for defending against the occasional Space Oddities (though most monsters easily overpower individual ships). Additionally, the Flagship in plays a major role in Emperor Mode.

Availability[]

ShipList

Ships are unlocked to be spawned by the player in sandbox mode as soon as you click on them in any game mode. Keep an eye out for any new ships on the map so you can click on them. In paid versions of the game(or after paying IAP on mobile platforms), all ships are already unlocked.

Building Ships in Emperor Mode[]

BuildingShipsEmperor

In order to build ships in Empire mode, first click on your empire tab at the top. Then click "Build Ships." Then you can select where to place them and what to build. However you must have the available capacity to build these ships, which is visible at the top of the build menu. This capacity increases as you conquer more stars. Losing stars will not affect your current ships. You can only build five basic ships, other ships have a chance to be built automatically if certain conditions are met.

Ship Levels[]

WardenShipLevel

After scoring kills or after performing certain actions, ships gain XP. After getting enough XP, ships will level up. These levels provide certain bonuses such as reducing the chance of taking damage during combat, and increasing ground combat support effectiveness. Technology level will also improve the offensive capabilities of ships.

Empire ships[]

Battleship[]

Battleships are square ships with a single white turret on top. Battleships fire orange missiles at other enemy ships that deal 1.0 damage on impact. Battleships can aid in the capture of planets, and provide an attack and defense bonus any star that they orbit. Battleships are viable replacements for the Dropship, and can quickly capture enemy stars in enough numbers.

Frigate[]

The Frigate is the primary starship that civilizations use as a dedicated ship killer, and will often be found made in large numbers. Frigates rapidly fire four gray missiles that each do 0.2 damage per successful hit, and are effective against slow ships that cannot dodge their missiles. They can support stars after capturing one, granting the star a defense boost.

Raider[]

Raiders are highly mobile ships specialized in destroying artifacts of other civilizations. Raiders are equipped to deal with disabling missiles and can attack other ships with a laser that deals 1.0 damage per hit. Raiders are highly mobile and travel quickly along starlanes, and can outrun most ships. As such, raiders can often be found far from a civilization’s home territory.

Maintenance Ship[]

The Maintenance Ship is a support ship that specializes in repairing damaged friendly ships with a blue laser. It also has a white laser with which it can destroy enemy missiles and attack enemy ships at close range, dealing 1.0 damage. Is a common ship.

Drop Ship[]

The Drop Ship captures hostile stars that are linked to your empire. They are completely defenseless. This ship is a great way to deal with uprisings, or to expand your empire when in "Glacial" expansion speed mode. Is a common ship.

Carrier[]

The Carrier is a slow ship that carries 4 fighters. The fighters deploy whenever a threat is within the Carrier's range, and regularly return to their parent Carrier. The fighters the Carrier spawns are great at picking off battleships, but can easily be dealt with by frigates and destroyers. Is a rare ship. Industrial and militant empires sometimes build these.

Super Carrier[]

The Supercarrier is similar to the Carrier, except that it is much slower and carries a whopping 12 fighters inside of it, as well as wielding a gray laser that it uses to support invasions of enemy stars.

The sheer amount of fighters that the ship has allows it to eradicate entire fleets in a single blow. These ships can destroy both frigates and battleships with ease. One of the most powerful and rarest ships in the game.

Mothership[]

The Mothership is a very slow and powerful ship, bearing a variety of weapons for all purposes. Its armament consists of a white missile that destroys stars, a yellow missile that targets ships, and a gray laser that acts as point defense. It also has a blue healing laser, similar to the maintenance ship's. It is a rare ship, and Industrial empires tend to build a lot of these.

Disruptor[]

The Disruptor is a rare, but powerful special ship. Its disruption cannon fires green projectiles at hostile stars that inflict the disruption effect upon them for a short time, completely cutting said system off from its neighbors and forbidding ships to travel through.

Gunboat[]

The Gunboat is a slow ship that fires blue explosive missiles at enemies from a distance. When they reach their target, They explode and make a spread of orange missiles that damage ships. These ships can be easily picked off by fighters and frigates, so if you are in empire mode it is important to protect them with frigates and other ships, as it is a rare type of ship. Defensive empires sometimes build these.

Ruptor[]

Ruptors typically only activate during degeneration of it's parent empire. It also has a grey laser on the side. This is a rare ship spawned by empires with the unstable special.

Science Ship[]

The Science Ship is a vessel that speeds up tech research of the home empire. Can somewhat defend itself, with a basic white laser. it is a rare ship built by scientific empires. If it travels to 30 different stars not owned by its parent empire, it will blow up, giving 1 technology level to its parent empire.

Explosives Museum[]

When the Explosives Museum is destroyed, it explodes with great force, destroying all stars in a large radius. It also has a ground support laser. It is a very rare ship.

Terror Ship[]

A rare ship that gives combat and defense bonuses to stars, and wipes out factions. Has no ship to ship weapons, so it's best to leave them on defense against rebellions. When the star they guard has been captured (or gets destroyed) the terror ship detonates like the Explosives Museum. They will only be built by Empires with the Militant special.

Illumimator[]

A rare ship with a laser capable of creating a large explosion, dealing 1.0 damage to any hostiles caught in its blast.

Destroyer[]

The Destroyer can not be built manually. They shoot out 5 grey missiles that track targets. They are not very good against high HP ships like Battleships, but are better against Fighters and Frigates.

Gun Station[]

This ship is mostly stationary, and will defend the star it is located at. Likely as a result of a coding oversight, Gun Stations are capable of going on quests. If destroyed, its parent star will be destroyed as well.

Tentapprentice[]

The Tentapprentice is an unusual ship, its primary armament consisting of a pair of long tentacles, which will deal 1.0 damage to any hostile ship they hit. These tentacles grow/regenerate over time, with each of the 5 respective tentacle segments having 1.0 HP.

Shield Ship[]

A ship that emits a ripple that slows down and eventually blocks incoming bullets. Released in the 4.7 update. The sprite was made by Estrect.

Dreadnought[]

Boasting the second highest health pool of any ship, the Dreadnought is able to suffer almost any amount of hits. It is armed with four anti-ship missiles, each dealing one damage, so it is capable of taking on and even defeating multiple ships at once. Additionally, they are able to support ground combat, similar to many other ships. This ship can only be built by militant industrial empires.

Native Ships[]

An empire that controls a star with natives on it can build that native species' ship. Click here for a full list of native ships.

Other ships[]

Flagship[]

The Flagship is not a ship you can build or see outside of Emperor Mode, as you can only use it when you are playing Emperor Mode, with only one available. Flagships have a laser that deals 1.0 damage and will support nearby stars. It has 10.0 HP and does not follow starlanes, as it can be flown anywhere on the map by dragging it with the mouse/finger. It will never spawn naturally, and once you leave Emperor mode it disappears. It isn't possible to spawn this ship in Sandbox Mode, and if destroyed it will instantly respawn.

Warden[]

The Warden is a special neutral ship that has a 10% chance to spawn after a powerful empire has been destroyed/transcended, spawning at the location of one of the empire's artifacts, "defending" it from marauders. Takes color from its late parent empire. Self-destructs if the guarded artifact is destroyed.

Modded Base[]

An experiment in making modding API. Stationary base, similar to Gun Station. In the game's files, it's located apart from other ships - in data/mods/ships. Nearly unobtainable on Android. Similar to the Carrier, spawns a lot of payload ships - but, instead of interceptors, it spawns battleships (could be changed in game's files to any other ship)

Interceptor[]

A small and weak ship used by Carriers and Super Carriers. Extremely weak(often dying in a single hit), but together, they are very strong and can destroy entire fleets with their massive pooled damage. After being destroyed, their parent ships will eventually respawn them.

Mind Control Pod[]

Spawned by the Mind Control Hubs or, en masse, by cult empires to rapidly invade stars, like the Dropship(Though far more effective). Doesn't follow starlanes; disappears after successfully conquering a star.

Ghosts[]

Ghosts are ships (or just ghosts) that are spawned by the imperial tomb and are the ghosts of dead people that had a 4 star job or higher.

Trade Ships[]

Trade ships are ships that conduct trade between places. They are attracted to resources which look like small colored diamonds on stars, and to artifacts (especially Financial Center). These ships cannot be interacted with.

Civilian ships[]

These ships are smaller than combat ships and are there only for cosmetic purposes. Empires with a tech level 1-3 have a triangular ship. Empires with a tech level of 4-5 have a U-shaped ship, and empires above tech 6 have a pac-man shaped ship. If the game is paused, in timelapse mode, or an empire is degenerating, you can't see any civilian ships.

Religion Specific Ships[]

Olive Branch Dove[]

The Olive Branch Dove is a ship similar to the Holy Roller in that it is a religions specific ship. However, it spreads the religion of Pingoism rather than Wheelism. It is shaped like a bird and spawns smaller bird shaped ships that accompany it. Both the sprites were made by estrect.

Holy Roller[]

A ship sometimes built by empires following the religion of Wheelism. These ships wander everywhere and spread Wheelism to the stars they target, and wield a basic white laser for self-defense.

Some Ship[]

The Some Ship is a ship for the religion Someism. The shape is shaped like the Holding of the sacred place icon. The sprite was made by estrect.
